First-Time Charitable Donor’s Super-Credit ends December 31!

If you have never given to charity for tax purposes, you are rapidly running out of time to take advantage of the Federal Government’s First-Time Donor’s Super Credit (FDSC) which allows you to claim 25% more than you give for tax purposes.

This means that if you give $1000 to a registered charity like SPEC AssociationHabitat for Humanity, the Diabetes Association Brooks & District or Brooks Animal Protection Society, you can write off $1250 on your tax return.

This program ends on December 31, 2017 so you have a very limited time to take advantage of this generous offer from Revenue Canada. Drop by their office to donate or, in the case of organizations like SPEC, you can also donate via their webpage.
